Shared Care Protocols

Shared Care Protocols must have been agreed by the relevant hospital Drug and Therapeutics Committees (D&TCs) and approved by the Nottinghamshire Area Prescribing Committee.

Prior agreement must be obtained by the specialist from the GP before responsibility for prescribing can be transferred.

Shared Care Protocols (SCPs) are used to allow prescribing to be taken on by a patient's GP once the patient is stable.
